Refuge Rules & Waivers

 

The River Falls Refuge is a unique and historical environment that offers our community our own beautiful setting for offroading, hiking, biking and other outdoor activities. The following policies are intended to preserve our refuge while fostering a clean and safe recreational area for our members and guests. is the property owner's responsibility to make sure everyone in their household, and visitors, comply with the Rules & Regulations.
 

River Falls POA Refuge Rules and Regulations

 

Refuge Usage

 

River Falls members and their guests are permitted to use the Refuge. Members need to complete the Members should have a current signed waiver on file. Waivers can be found HERE. Members must have current stickers placed on the lower driver’s side windshield of all vehicles.

 

Guests - Must sign a guest waiver found HERE and be accompanied by a member while in the Refuge (everyone over the age of 18). All guest vehicles must display a Refuge sticker for compliance. Guest credentials (sticker and gate pass) are available at the Main POA office during normal business hours. Guest stickers are to be placed on the vehicle’s lower driver’s side windshield.

 

Vehicles allowed in Refuge - Street legal vehicles and SxS/ATVs with 4 wheels. Please note that Motorcycles or motorized 2 wheel vehicles are NOT permitted in the Refuge for offroad purposes. Class 1 e-bicycles are permitted - Class 1 is defined as pedal assist only and no throttle.

 

River Falls Refuge Parking policy

Vehicles and ATVs must park in designated areas only. Do not park in any areas designated with No Parking signs

There is no parking within 200 feet of any Refuge gate (includes both sides of gates)

Vehicles and ATVs are permitted to park in the Refuge, but only in designated parking areas or open areas. Please look for areas that are clear of plants and foliage and tread lightly

Do not park in a manner that impedes any road, path or trail. 

Safety

Designated Trails - All vehicles must remain on designated trails - do not create your own trail at any time. The speed limit on all trails is 15 mph.

 

All trails are two-way trails - If you encounter a vehicle please work with the other driver to find a safe place for one of you to pull to the side.

 

Watch for Bicycles, Hikers and Pedestrians in the Refuge

 

Pets - Pets are welcome in the Refuge - Pet owners must maintain control of their pets at all times and clean up after them. Pets must be collared and have all current vaccinations.

 

Firearms - Hunting or the discharge of ANY firearm is not permitted in the Refuge. This includes BB and Pellet type guns as well as bows, crossbows or slingshots

 

Fireworks are never permitted in the Refuge and strictly prohibited.

 

Open Fires are not permitted except in designated campsites - ALWAYS follow Burn Ban policies and check before lighting any fire.

 

Alcohol and Drugs - Drugs are unlawful and never permitted. Use of alcohol is permitted provided users are not driving under the influence or creating an unsafe environment for themselves. No one under the age of 21 is permitted to possess or consume alcohol. Follow the Law.

 

Fishing is permitted in the Refuge, it is catch and release.

 

Trespass/Compliance

Respect private property - all Refuge property borders on private property, do not enter/trespass on private property.

 

Please do not litter - follow the Pack it in, Pack it out model. Please leave any area you use better  than you found it. Keep it clean and do not pollute picnic areas or any body of water.

 

Do not build ANY type of structure without the written approval of the River Falls POA

 

Please do not remove any items from the Refuge, this includes: rocks, arrowheads and other artifacts

 

Do not cut trees in the Refuge - There are designated events for Refuge cleanup during the year.

 

Do not deface the Refuge in any way - this includes graffiti, etching rock walls, moving/altering signage and other forms of vandalism.

 

Gates - Gates are the property of River Falls - Do not tamper with any gate. Issues should be reported to the River Falls Main POA office at [email protected].

 

Additional Information/FAQ

 

Q: What should I do if my vehicle breaks down and I must leave it in the Refuge?

A: Please notify the River Falls office ([email protected]) immediately if you must leave a vehicle in the refuge due to mechanical issues, etc.Typically vehicles can only be left in the Refuge for a maximum of 48 hours, then they will be towed.

 

Q: Who should I contact if my vehicle is towed for a breakdown or improper parking?

A: River Falls has contracted with Senor Towing. They can be reached at 806-282-6472

 

 

This is a private gated community however, please be aware criminal behavior will be reported to Randall County Sheriff’s office for action.
